ABS W/Traction Control (TRAC)

(1) Speed Sensor signal check.
(a) Turn the Ignition Switch OFF.

DLC Connector Diagnostic Terminal ID:

(b) Using SST, connect terminals Ts and E1 of DLC1.

(c) Start the engine.

ABS Warning Light Flashing "Normal" Code:

(d) Check that the ABS Warning Light blinks.

NOTE: If the ABS Warning Light does not blink, inspect the ABS Warning Light circuit. ABS Warning Light Circuit

(e) Drive vehicle straight forward.

NOTE: Drive vehicle faster than 45 km/h (28 mph) for several seconds.

(f) Stop the vehicle.
(g) Using SST, connect terminals Tc and E1 of DLC1.

(h) Read the number of blinks of the ABS Warning Light.

NOTE: See the list of DTC.
^ If every sensor is normal, a normal code is output (A cycle of 0.25 sec. ON and 0.25 sec. OFF is repeated).
^ If 2 or more malfunction are indicated at the same time, the lowest numbered code will be displayed 1st.

Malfunction Code Flash Sequence:

(i) After doing the check, disconnect the SST from terminals Ts and E1, Tc and E1 of DLC1, and turn Ignition Switch OFF.

DTC Check Using Hand-Held Tester:

(2) DTC check using LEXUS hand-held tester.
(a) Do step 1 - 6. on the previous procedure.
(b) Hook up the LEXUS hand-held tester to the DLC2.
(c) Read the DTC by following the prompts on the tester screen.
