Hose/Line HVAC: Testing and Inspection




LOCATION

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. INSPECTION HOSE AND TUBE CONNECTIONS FOR LOOSENESS

2. INSPECT HOSES AND TUBES FOR LEAKAGE
Using a gas leak detector, check for leakage of refrigerant.

REPLACEMENT
1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

2. REPLACE FAULTY TUBE OR HOSE

NOTE: Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.

3. TORQUE CONNECTIONS TO SPECIFIED TORQUE

NOTE: Connections should not be torqued tighter than the specified torqued.

Receiver x Liquid tube
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kg.cm, 48 in.lb)
Condenser x Discharge tube
Torque: 22 Nm (225 kg.cm, 16 ft.lb)
Condenser x Liquid tube
Torque: 14 Nm (140 kg.cm, 7 ft.lb)
Compressor x Discharge tube
Torque: 10 Nm (100 kg.cm, 7 ft.lb)
Compressor x Suction tube
Torque: 10 Nm (100 kg.cm, 7 ft.lb)
A/C unit x Liquid and suction tube
Torque: 10 Nm (100 kg.cm, 7 ft.lb)
Expansion valve x Evaporator
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kg.cm, 48 in.lb)
Liquid line (Block joint)
Torque: 10 Nm (100 kg.cm, 7 ft.lb)
Suction line (Block joint)
Torque: 10 Nm (100 kg.cm, 7 ft.lb)
Suction line (Piping joint)
Torque: 32 Nm (330 kg.cm, 24 ft.lb)

4. EVACUATE AIR IN REFRIGERATION SYSTEM AND CHARGE WITH REFRIGERANT
Specified amount:
800 ± 50g (28.22 ± 1.76 oz.)

5. INSPECT FOR LEAKAGE OF REFRIGERANT
Using a gas leak detector, check for leakage of refrigerant.

6. INSPECT AIR CONDITIONING OPERATION
