No. 1 Cooling Fan Motor Replacement

No.1 Cooling Fan:

REMOVAL

HINT: INSTALLATION IS IN THE REVERSE ORDER OF REMOVAL.

1. CANADA: Disconnect relay block (for daytime running light system) from battery hold-down clamp.

2. Remove No.1 cooling fan.
(a) Disconnect the cooling fan connector.
(b) Disconnect the No.1 ECT switch wire connector.
(c) Disconnect the No.1 ECT switch wire clamps.



(d) Remove the 2 bolts and cooling fan.
Torque: 5.0 Nm (44 in.lb)


DISASSEMBLY

HINT: ASSEMBLY IS IN THE REVERSE ORDER OF DISASSEMBLY.

1. Remove fan.
- Remove the clip and fan.

CAUTION: When removing the clip and fan, do not apply too much force to the motor shaft. And do not scratch the motor shaft.




ASSEMBLY NOTE: Install a new clip from the side opposite the protrusion on the fan.

2. Remove fan motor.



(a) Disconnect the lead wire and connector from the fan shroud.



(b) Remove the 3 screws and fan motor.
