1. Raise and support vehicle, then drain transmission fluid.
2. Remove front exhaust pipe and heat insulator, then propeller shaft.
3. Position shift lever in P range, then remove transmission output flange, using wrench 09060-20100 or equivalent, remove output flange attaching nut and output flange, Fig. 11.
4. Remove oil seal from output flange.
5. Using seal puller 09308-00010 or equivalent, remove extension housing rear oil seal, Fig. 12.
6. Coat the lip of the new seal with suitable grease, then using seal installer 09309-37010 or equivalent, install seal with lip facing downward. Oil seal depth from flat end should be .012 inch.
7. Install oil seal to output flange using special service tool No. 09517-36010 or equivalent.
8. Install output flange and two washers. Torque output flange attaching nut to 90 ft. lb. Stake the nut.
9. Install front exhaust pipe and propeller shaft, then lower vehicle and check transmission fluid level.
