Maintaining Correct Coolant Level

It is important to collect and return to the cooling system exactly the same amount of coolant that the system contained at the beginning of the work. Doing so will ensure that there are no air pockets trapped in the engine cooling system.

1. Before starting work, note the level of the engine coolant in the coolant reservoir.

2. Be careful to collect all coolant removed from the engine in a clean container. Do not mix coolant from different vehicles.

3. When refilling cooling system at the completion of the work, be sure that all removed coolant is reinstalled. Observe that the level of the coolant in the coolant reservoir is the same as before the work. If the level is below specification, top up with "Toyota Long Life Antifreeze Coolant".
