Airbag Deployment When Scrapping Vehicle

If a vehicle is to be scrapped, air bag must be deployed before scrapping.
1. Disarm SRS as described under "Air Bag Disarming & Arming.
2. Remove necessary steering column covers and disconnect air bag connector to spiral cable.
3. Connect special air bag deployment tool No. 09082-00700, or equivalent, to spiral cable connector.
4. Close all vehicle doors and windows.
5. Move deployment tool at least 33 feet from vehicle.
6. Connect tool to a fully charged 12 volt battery.
7. Ensure no people, animals or objects are within 33 feet of vehicle.
8. Press deployment button and deploy air bag.
9. If air bag does not deploy, consult Lexus for disposal procedures.
