Deployment When Disposing of Front Passenger Airbag Assembly

1. Disarm SRS as described under "Air Bag Disarming & Arming.
2. Remove Passenger's air bag as described under "Air Bag Module, Service and Repair.
3. Using thick wire, secure Passenger's air bag to a discarded tire and rim, Fig. 24.






4. Position tire with air bag on top of two tires, then place two more tires on top of tire with air bag.
5. Use thick wire to secure tires together.
6. Connect special deployment tool No. 09082-00700, or equivalent, to air bag connector from underneath tires.
7. Move deployment tool at least 33 feet away from stacked tires.
8. Connect tool to a fully charged 12 volt battery.
9. Ensure no people, animals or objects are within 33 feet of air bag.
10. Press deployment button and deploy air bag.
11. If air bag assembly does not deploy, consult Lexus for disposal procedures.
