Sub Heated Oxygen Sensor

1. INSPECT SUB HEATED OXYGEN SENSORS.
- Cancel diagnostic trouble code.
- Allow the engine to warm up to normal operating temperature.
- Drive for 5 minutes or more between 80 km/h (50mph) and and 100 km/h (62 mph) in D position.
- Following the conditions in step (c). press fully on the accelerator pedal for 2 seconds or more.

HINT: Do not exceed 100 km/h (62 mph), or diagnostic trouble code will be cancelled.

- Stop the vehicle, and turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Carry out steps (b), (c) and (d) again to test acceleration.
- If code Nos. 27 and 29 reappears again, check the 2 heated oxygen sensor circuit.
- If the circuit is normal, replace the sub heated oxygen sensor.

2. REMOVE RADIO WITH A/C CONTROL PANEL.

3. INSPECT HEATER RESISTANCE OF HEATED OXYGEN SENSORS(BANK1, 2 SENSOR2).
- Disconnect the 2 oxygen sensor connectors.
- Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals +B and HT.

Resistance: At 20°C (68°F): 11 - 160hms

- If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor as follows:
- Disconnect the wire grommet from the floor panel.
- Remove the oxygen sensor.
- Reinstall a new oxygen sensor.

Torque: 44 N.m (450 kgf.cm, 33 ft.lb.)

- Run the wire of the oxygen sensor through the hole in the floor panel.
- Reinstall the wire grommet to the floor panel.
- Reconnect the 2 oxygen sensor connectors.

4. INSTALL RADIO WITH A/C CONTROL PANEL.
