Fig. 10 Exploded View Of Front Shock Absorber:
1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove front wheels.
2. Disconnect steering knuckle from upper ball joint as follows:
a. Remove upper ball joint clip and nut, Fig. 10.
b. Using ball joint puller tool No. 09628-62011 or equivalent, remove steering knuckle from upper ball joint.
c. Support steering knuckle with suitable wire to prevent to much strain on brake hose and speed sensor wiring harness.
3. Remove shock absorber from lower bracket.
4. Remove plug from suspension support plate.
5. Loosen nut in middle of suspension support plate.
6. Loosen three nuts securing shock absorber with coil spring, then remove the shock absorber and spring assembly.
7. Using coil spring tool No. 09727-30020 or equivalent, compress the coil spring.
8. Remove suspension support center nut.
9. Remove suspension support, coil spring and spring bumper.
10. Remove insulator from suspension support.
11. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. When installing insulator, match bolt of suspension support with cut-out part of insulator.
b. Install lower end of coil spring into gap of spring seat of shock absorber.

c. After installing suspension support on rod, turn suspension support so that one of the bolts on suspension support faces in same direction as shown in Fig. 9. Align bolt so that a line drawn between rod and bolt would be 90° to direction of lower bushing.
d. Prior to completely tightening lower shock absorber bolt, stabilize suspension by installing wheels and bouncing vehicle up and down several times then tighten lower shock absorber bolt.
