1. Set height control On/Off switch in luggage compartment to Off position.
2. Raise and support vehicle then remove front wheels.
3. Disconnect steering knuckle from upper ball joint as follows:
a. Remove upper ball joint clip and nut, Fig. 11.
b. Using ball joint puller tool No. 09628-62011 or equivalent, remove steering knuckle from upper ball joint.
c. Support steering knuckle with suitable wire to prevent to much strain on brake hose and speed sensor wiring harness.
4. Disconnect height control sensor link from shock absorber lower bracket.
5. Remove pneumatic cylinder from lower bracket.
6. Remove grommet in shock tower, then the air tube from the pneumatic cylinder.
7. Remove the three nuts, then the suspension control actuator cover.
8. Remove two bolts, then the actuator.
9. Loosen three nuts then remove pneumatic cylinder and suspension support plate from the vehicle.
10. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. When installing suspension control actuator, match rods of pneumatic cylinder with holes in suspension control actuator.
b. Use new O-ring on cylinder air tube.
c. Connect height control sensor link using a new nut.
d. Prior to completely tightening lower shock absorber bolt, stabilize suspension by installing wheels and bouncing vehicle up and down several times then tighten lower shock absorber bolt. Ensure that no objects are sticking out of the floor as the vehicle height is noticeably lower due to air taken out of pneumatic cylinders.
