1. Remove steering knuckle with axle hub.
2. On models without air suspension, remove shock absorber.
3. On models with air suspension, remove pneumatic cylinder.
4. Remove shock absorber lower mounting bracket, Fig. 12.
5. Place alignment marks on screw part and nut of strut bar.
6. Remove nut and washer from front side of strut bar.
7. Remove two nuts, then the strut bar from lower control arm.
8. Remove three nuts, then the strut bar cushion and strut bar from vehicle.
9. Remove nut after measuring distance between nut and lower control arm bolt hole, Fig.13.
10. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. When installing new strut bar where no alignment marks are available, install nut on strut bar to a distance of 17.098-17.138 inches, Fig.13.
b. Temporarily install strut bar outer washer and nut. Install shock absorber bracket, shock absorber (models less air suspension) pneumatic cylinder (models with air suspension) and steering knuckle with axle hub. Then after stabilizing suspension, tighten strut rod nut to specifications.
