Removal and Installation

Fig. 36 Removing Power Steering Pump:

Refer to Fig. 36 when replacing the power steering pump, noting the following:
1. Loose drive belt tension by turning drive belt tensioner counterclockwise, then remove drive belt.
2. Remove pump pulley using driveshaft holding tool No. 09278-54012 or equivalent.

3. Face pump in direction shown in Fig. 37, then remove.

4. When installing pump, tighten bolts on pump in order shown in Fig. 38.

5. Ensure stopper is touching the pump housing as shown, then tighten union bolt, Fig. 39.
6. Bleed power steering system.
