Ignition Switch: Service and Repair

NOTE: On models with coded audio anti-theft systems, refer to Technician Safety Information for code procedures.

Fig. 17 Ignition Switch Location:

1. On models with air bag system, disarm airbag system as outlined under Technician Safety Information.
2. Remove the following parts:
a. No. 1 undercover.
b. Lower pad.
c. Key cylinder pad and key cylinder light.
d. No. 3 finish panel mounting bracket.
e. No. 2 heater to register duct.
3. Disconnect electrical connector, then remove switch from key cylinder and wire harness clamp, Fig. 17.
4. Reverse procedure to install. If audio system was disabled, activate as outlined under Technician Safety Information. On models with air bag system, rearm airbag system as outlined under Technician Safety Information.
