Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER.
2. REMOVE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR.



- Disconnect these hoses from the pressure regulator:
(1) Vacuum sensing hose from VSV for fuel pressure
(2) Fuel return hose

CAUTION: Put a shop towel under the pressure regulator.




- Loosen the lock nut, and remove the pressure regulator.
- Remove the 0-ring from the pressure regulator.

INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR.
- Fully loosen the lock nut on the pressure regulator.



- Apply a light coat of gasoline to a new 0-ring, and install it to the pressure regulator.
- Insert the pressure regulator into the delivery pipe by hand completely.



- Turn the pressure regulator counterclockwise until the vacuum sensing port faces in the direction indicated in the illustration.
- Tighten the lock nut.

Torque: 29 Nm (22 ft.lb)

- Connect these hoses to the pressure regulator:
- Vacuum sensing hose from VSV for fuel pressure
- Fuel return hose
2. INSTALL V-BANK COVER.
