Removal and Installation
A/C UNIT REMOVAL
1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
INSTALLATION HINT: Evacuate air from refrigeration system.
Charge system with refrigerant and inspect for leakage of refrigerant.
Specified amount:
700 ± 50 g (29.69 ± 1.76 oz.)
2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
REMOVAL HINT: It is not necessary to drain out all the coolant.
3. DISCONNECT LIQUID TUBE AND SUCTION TUBE
Remove the 2 bolts and both tubes.
Torque: 10 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)
REMOVAL NOTE: Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.
INSTALLATION HINT: Lubricate 2 new O-rings with compressor oil and install the tubes.
4. DISCONNECT EQUALIZER TUBE FROM EPR
Remove the bolt and tube.
Torque: 10 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)
REMOVAL NOTE: Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out to the system.
INSTALLATION HINT: Lubricate a new O-ring with compressor oil and install the tube.
5. DISCONNECT WATER HOSES FROM HEATER RADIATOR PIPES
a. Disconnect the water valve control cable from water valve.
INSTALLATION HINT: For installing the control cable refer to CONTROL CABLE ADJUSTMENT.
b. Remove the 2 water valve mounting nuts.
c. Disconnect the water hoses.
INSTALLATION HINT:
^ Push the water hose for the heater radiator pipe onto the pipe until the pipe marking are hidden.
^ Push the water hose from the engine onto the water valve pipe until the pipe is completely hidden.
^ Install the hose clips in a position. as shown in the illustration.
6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND REINFORCEMENT
7. REMOVE BLOWER UNIT
8. REMOVE A/C UNIT
a. Disconnect the connectors.
b. Remove the rear heater duct.
c. Remove drain hose.
d. Remove the 2 nuts. bolt and A/C unit.
A/C UNIT INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
