Front Door: Service and Repair







FRONT DOOR DISASSEMBLY

1. REMOVE THESE PARTS:

HINT: Tape a screwdriver tip before use.

(a) Upper bracket garnish
(b) Armrest base panel
(c) Inside handle bezel





2. REMOVE DOOR TRIM
(a) Using a screwdriver, disconnect the connector and remove the courtesy light.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(b) Remove the 8 screws.
(c) Using the screwdriver, remove the clips and remove the trim by pulling all of the trim up.

HINT: Do not scratch the panel with the screwdriver.





3. REMOVE THESE PARTS:
(a) Door frame garnish
(b) Door weatherstrip

NOTICE: Do not pull strongly on the weatherstrip as it may tear.

(c) Door glass run

HINT: Pull the glass run upwards.

(d) Service hole cover

HINT: Do not tear the service hole cover.

(e) Door speaker
(f) Door ECU
(g) Inside handle
(h) Tweeter speaker
(i) Outside rear view mirror





4. ADJUST DOOR GLASS

HINT: Check that there is space between the glass guide and stopper.

(a) Fully raise the glass and adjust the gap between the glass and door panel.
(b) After adjustment, immobilize the guide, stoppers and 2 nuts.

HINT:
- Check that the edge of the glass does not come in contact with the bottom part of the weatherstrip when the glass is being raised or lowered.
- Check that the glass moves up and down smoothly and that the weatherstrip does not get caught by the glass.

(c) Raise the glass again and check the installation.





5. REMOVE DOOR GLASS GUIDES AND DOOR GLASS
(a) Remove the 2 bolts joining the window regulator and glass.

HINT: Insert a shop rag inside the panel to prevent scratching the glass.

(b) Remove the 3 screws and pull out the front glass guide.
(c) Remove the 4 screws and pull out the rear glass guide.
(d) Pull the door glass out of the panel carefully.





6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR BELT MOULDING
(a) Remove the 5 screws and 4 nuts.
(b) Using a scraper, remove the double-stick tape from the rear side.

HINT: Tape the scraper tip before use.

7. REMOVE THESE PARTS:





(a) Window regulator

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.Ibf)

(b) Opening control link and inside locking link





(c) Door lock

Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.Ibf)

(d) Outside handle
(e) Key cylinder
(f) Front door outside moulding

Assembly is in the reverse order of disassembly.
