Ball Joint: Service and Repair

Fig. 19 Exploded View Of Lower Ball Joint Components:

1. On models with air suspension, place height control switch located in luggage compartment to Off position.
2. On all models, raise and support front of vehicle.
3. Remove front brake caliper.
4. Loosen, do not remove, lower ball joint bolts, Fig. 19.
5. Disconnect tie rod from steering knuckle arm using tie rod puller No. 09628-62011 or equivalent.
6. remove bolts and disconnect lower ball joint from steering knuckle.
7. Remove lower ball joint from lower suspension arm using ball joint remover tool No. 09628-62011 or equivalent.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
