Shift Interlock Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

1. Inspect shift lock solenoid, as follows:
a. Disconnect the solenoid connector.





b. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals.
Standard resistance: 21-27 ohms.
If resistance value is not as specified, replace the solenoid.





c. Apply battery positive voltage between terminals. Check that operation noise can be heard from the solenoid. If the solenoid does not operated, replace the solenoid.
