1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove front wheels.
2. Disconnect brake hose and anti-lock brake system speed sensor wire from shock absorber.
3. Remove lower shock absorber attaching nuts and bolts, Fig. 7.
4. Remove three nuts holding top of suspension support.
5. remove shock absorber from body. Cover driveshaft boot to prevent damage during removal.
6. Using coil spring compressor tool No. 09727-00045, 09727-30020 or equivalent, compress coil spring.
7. Install a bolt and two nuts to lower portion of shock absorber shell and secure in vise, Fig. 6.
8. Using spring seat holding tool No. 09729-22031 or equivalent, remove nut, suspension upper support, upper insulator, coil spring, spring bumper and lower insulator. Do not disassemble spring lower seat.
9. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Fit lower end of coil spring into gap of lower seat.
b. Prior to installation of nut, rotate upper support until lowest bolt on support is aligned with projection part of spring lower seat.
c. Tighten all attaching nuts and bolts to specifications.
