Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair









1. REMOVE CONVERTER
- Jack up the vehicle.
- Check that the converter is cool.
- Remove the 2 bolts and exhaust pipe clamp.

Torque: 29 N.m (300 kgf.cm, 22 ft.lb.)

- Remove the 2 bolts, and disconnect the bracket.

Torque: 19 N.m (195 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lb.)

- Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts holding the front exhaust pipe to the center exhaust pipe.

Torque: 56 N.m (570 kgf.cm, 41 ft.lb.)

- Remove the 4 nuts holding the front exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifolds.

Torque: 62 N.m (630 kgf.cm, 46 ft.lb.)

- Remove the front exhaust pipe and 3 gaskets.

INSTALLATION HINT: Install 3 new gaskets.

2. INSTALL CONVERTER

INSTALLATION HINT: Installation is the reverse order of removal.
