Fuel Pump Control Unit: Testing and Inspection
1. DISCONNECT NEGATIVE (-) TERMINAL CABLE FROM BATTERY.
CAUTION: Work must be started after 90 seconds from the time the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the. battery.
2. REMOVE SEAT CUSHION AND BACK.
3. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM.
- Disconnect the rear side of the scuff plate by pulling it.
- Remove clip A.
- Remove the belt bole cover by pulling it.
- Remove clip B.
- Remove the quarter trim by pulling it.
4. INSPECT FUEL PUMP ECU.
- Disconnect the fuel pump ECU connector.
- Connect negative (-) terminal cable to the battery.
- Check the connector on the wiring harness side as shown in the image above.
- If circuit is as specified, replace the fuel pump ECU.
- Disconnect negative (-) terminal cable from the battery.
- Reconnect the fuel pump ECU connector.
5. INSTALL QUARTER TRIM.
- Attach the upper side of the quarter trim to the quarter panel.
- Install the quarter trim with the 4 clips.
- Install the belt hole cover with the 2 clips.
- Install the rear side of the scuff.
6. REINSTALL SEAT BACK AND CUSHION.
7. RECONNECT NEGATIVE (-) TERMINAL CABLE FROM BATTERY.
