On Vehicle Inspection





1. INSPECT THROTTLE BODY.
- Remove the throttle body cover.
- Disconnect the EVAP hose from the hose clamp.
- Remove the cap nut.
- Loosen the 2 bolts, and remove the hose clamp and throttle body cover.





- Check that the throttle linkage moves smoothly.





- Check the vacuum at each port.
- Start the engine.
- Check the vacuum with your finger.
- Reinstall the throttle body cover.
2. INSPECT AND ADJUST DASH POT (DP).
- Warm up engine.
- All warm the engine up to normal operating temperature.
- Check idle speed.

Idle speed: 700 ± 50 rpm





- Remove cap, filter and separator from DP.
- Check and adjust DP setting speed.
- Maintain the engine at 2,500 rpm.
- Plug the VTV hole with your finger.
- Release the throttle valve.
- Check that the DP is set.

DP setting speed: 1,500 rpm

- Adjust the DP setting speed by turning the DP adjusting screw.
- Repeat steps from (a) to (c), and recheck the DP setting speed.
- Reinstall separator, filter and cap to DP

HINT: Install the filter with the coarser surface facing the atmospheric side (outside).

- Check VTV operation.
- Maintain the engine at 2,500 rpm.
- Release the throttle valve, and check that the engine returns to idle in a few seconds.
3. CHECK THROTTLE OPENER.
- Check the engine speed when disconnect the throttle opener vacuum hose.

Engine speed gradually changes from: 650 ± 50 rpm to 1200 ± 200 rpm

- If not at specified speed, adjust with the throttle opener adjust screw.
- Reinstall the vacuum hose to throttle opener.
