Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair

1. DISCONNECT NEGATIVE (-) TERMINAL CABLE FROM BATTERY.

CAUTION: Work must be started after 90 seconds from the time the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.





2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE AND VOLUME AIR FLOW (VAF) METER ASSEMBLY.
- Disconnect the VAF meter connector.
- Disconnect the wire clamp from the clamp bracket on the VAF meter.
- Loosen the hose clamp bolt.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Disconnect the air cleaner hose from the VAF meter.
- Disconnect the air duct from the air cleaner case, and remove the air cleaner case and VAF meter assembly.





3. REMOVE VAF METER FROM AIR CLEANER CASE.
- Remove the 4 nuts, VAF meter and gasket.

INSTALLATION:





1. INSTALL VAF METER TO AIR CLEANER CASE.
- Install a new gasket and the VAF meter with the 4 nuts.

Torque: 10 Nm (7 ft lb)





2. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CASE AND VAF METER ASSEMBLY.
- Connect the air cleaner case to the air duct.
- Connect the VAF meter to the air cleaner hose.
- Install the air cleaner case and VAF meter assembly with the 4 bolts.
- Install the hose clamp.
- Connect the VAF meter connector.
- Install the wire clamp to the clamp bracket on the VAF meter.
3. CONNECT NEGATIVE (-) TERMINAL CABLE TO BATTERY.
