Radiator - Reservoir Tank Sub Assembly

Title: RADIATOR RESERVOIR TANK SUB-ASSEMBLY SUPPLY PARTS

Radiator Reservoir Tank Sub-Assemblies for '90-'94 LS 400 and '92-'95 SC 400 are now available as supply parts.

This bulletin provides part number information for new supply parts, as well as removal and replacement procedures for the Coolant Level Warning Switch.

NOTE:
New parts do not include the Radiator Cap Sub-Assembly or the Coolant Level Warning Switch Assembly.

PART REPLACEMENT:

When replacing a Radiator Reservoir Tank Sub-Assembly, the Coolant Level Warning Switch Assembly must be removed and reinstalled using a new O-Ring.

LEVEL WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY-REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION:

COOLANT LEVEL WARNING SWITCH REMOVAL

(a) Remove the radiator cap.

Caution
Do not remove radiator cap while the engine and radiator are still hot. Fluid and/or steam can be discharged under high pressure.

(b) Disconnect the coolant level warning switch connector




(c) Using the SST, remove the coolant level warning switch.

SST: 09960-10010
(09962-01000, 09963-00600)


COOLANT LEVEL WARNING SWITCH INSTALLATION

(a) Install a new O-ring to the level warning switch.

The O-ring is a non-reusable part.

(b) Using the SST, install the coolant level warning switch




Attach a torque wrench as shown in illustration and torque to specification.

Torque: 0.7 N.m (7 kgf.cm, 6 in.lbf)

(c) Reconnect the coolant level warning switch connector.

(d) Reinstall the radiator cap.
