Installation
COMPONENTS FOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL AIR INTAKE CHAMBER.
- Install a new gasket to the air intake chamber, facing the protrusion rearward.
- Install a new gasket to the intake manifold.
- Install the air intake chamber with the 5 bolts and nut.
Torque: 21 N.m (210 kgf cm, 15 ft.lbf)
- Install the No.1 stay with the bolt and nut.
Torque: 18 N.m (185 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf)
- Install the No.2 stay with the bolt and nut.
Torque: 18 N.m (185 kgt.cm, 13 ft.lbf)
- Install the engine wire protector to the air intake chamber with the bolt.
- Connect the following hoses:
- 3 vacuum hoses (from No.2 vacuum pipe) to No.1 vacuum pipe.
- Vacuum hose (from No.2 vacuum pipe) to air intake chamber.
- PS air hose from air intake chamber.
- Brake booster vacuum hose to air intake chamber Connect the vacuum hose with 2 new gaskets and union bolt.
Torque: 29 N.m (300 kgf.cm, 22 ft.lbf)
- Vacuum hose (from actuator for ACIS) to No.1 vacuum pipe.
- Except California:
Vacuum sensing hose (from fuel pressure regulator) to air intake chamber.
- Install the intake air connector to the air intake chamber with the 4 bolts and 2 nuts.
Torque: 21 N.m (210 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)
- Install the throttle body bracket to the cylinder head with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 21 N.m (210 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)
2. INSTALL NO.2 VACUUM PIPE.
- Install the vacuum pipe with the 2 nuts. Torque: 21 N.m (210 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)
3. CONNECT EGR GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR CONNECTOR.
- Connect the sensor connector to the wiring connector.
- Install the connector to the No.2 vacuum pipe.
4. INSTALL EGR PIPE.
- Temporarily install the union nut of the EGR pipe.
- Install a new gasket and the EGR pipe to the cylinder head with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 21 N.m (210 kgf.cm. 15 ft.lbf)
- Tighten the union nut of the EGR pipe.
Torque: 64 N.m (650 kgf.cm, 47 ft.lbf)
5. INSTALL OIL DIPSTICK GUIDE FOR ENGINE.
- Install a new 0-ring on the dipstick guide.
- Apply soapy water on the 0-ring.
- Connect the dipstick guide end to the oil pan.
- Install the dipstick guide with the bolt.
- Install the fuel return hose to the clamp of the dipstick guide.
6. WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:
INSTALL OIL DIPSTICK GUIDE FOR A/T.
- Install a new 0-ring on the dipstick guide.
- Apply soapy water on the 0-ring.
- Connect the dipstick guide end to the oil pan.
- Install the dipstick guide with the bolt.
7. INSTALL DATA LINK CONNECTOR 1 (DLC1) AND BRACKET ASSEMBLY.
- Install the DLC1 and bracket with the bolt.
8. CONNECT NEGATIVE (-) TERMINAL CABLE TO BATTERY.
