Fuel Pressure Pulsation Damper: Service and Repair





COMPONENTS FOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

REMOVAL:





1. DISCONNECT NEGATIVE (-) TERMINAL CABLE FROM BATTERY.

CAUTION: Work must be started after 90 seconds from the time the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.





2. REMOVE STARTER.





3. REMOVE FUEL PRESSURE PULSATION DAMPER.
- Using SST 09612-24014 (09617-24011), remove the pulsation damper and upper gasket.
- Disconnect the fuel inlet pipe from the fuel pipe sup- port, and remove the lower gasket.

INSTALLATION:





1. INSTALL FUEL PRESSURE PULSATION DAMPER.
- Install the fuel inlet pipe and pulsation damper with ~ new gaskets.

HINT: Different the gaskets are used for the upper (large size) and lower (small size).





- Using SST 09612-24014(09617-24011, tighten the pulsation damper.

Torque:
Not using SST 41 Nm (30 ft lb)
Using SST 35 Nm (25 ft lb)


HINT: Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 30 cm (11.81 in).





2. INSTALL STARTER.
3. CONNECT NEGATIVE (-) TERMINAL CABLE TO BATTERY.
4. CHECK FOR FUEL LEAKS.
