Hydraulic Test
HYDRAULIC TESTSMEASURE LINE PRESSURE
NOTICE:
- Do the test at normal operating fluid temperature 50° - 80°C (122° - 176°F).
- The line pressure test should always be carried out in pairs. One technician should observe the conditions of wheels or wheel stoppers outside the vehicle while the other is doing the test.
- Be careful to prevent the oil pressure gauge hose from touching with the exhaust pipe.
- Warm up the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF).
- Remove the test plug on the transmission case front left side and connect SST pressure gauge. (SST 09992-00094)
- Fully apply the parking brake and chock the 4 wheels.
- Start the engine and check idling speed.
- Keep your left foot pressed firmly on the brake pedal and shift into "D" position.
- Measure the line pressure when the engine is idling.
- Press the accelerator pedal all the way down.
- Quickly read the highest line pressure when engine speed reaches stall speed.
- In the same manner, do the test in "R" position.
SPECIFIED LINE PRESSURE
- If the measured pressures are not up to specified values, recheck the throttle cable adjustment and retest.

MEASURE ACCUMULATOR BACK PRESSURE
NOTICE:
- Do the test at normal operating fluid temperature 50° - 80°C (122° - 176°F).
- Be careful to prevent the oil pressure gauge hose from touching with the exhaust pipe.
- Warm up the transmission fluid.
- Remove the test plug on the transmission case rear right side and connect the SST pressure gauge. (SST 09992-00094)
HINT: Connecting the SST will be made easier by moving the RH side heat insulator aside.
- Remove the passenger side No.2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly and instrument panel box assembly.
- Insert one test lead probe into the terminal SLN of the ECM wire harness side connector and take care not to ground the other test lead probe.
HINT: Prepare test leads which are connected with an (approx.) 8 Watt light bulb.
- Fully apply the parking brake and chock the 4 wheels.
- Start the engine and check idling speed.
- Keep your left foot pressed firmly on the brake pedal and shift into "D" position.
- Measure the accumulator back pressure.
- With the same conditions, ground the other probe of the test lead which has one end inserted into the terminal SLN of the ECM harness side connector, then measure the accumulator back pressure again.
SPECIFIED ACCUMULATOR BACK PRESSURE
- With engine at idle speed and shift lever in "D" position
