TITLE: 1995 LS 400 AIR SUSPENSION DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHECK
This bulletin contains information for checking, reading and clearing diagnostic trouble codes for the updated suspension control ECU which entered production on July 1995.
^ 1995 LS 400s built before July 1995 production date, use the procedures detailed in TSB SU95-001 dated February 17, 1995.
^ 1995 LS 400s built with the updated ECU (after July 1995), use the procedures outlined in this bulletin.

CHECKING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES:
1. Using the diagnostic check wiring SST, connect terminals Tc and E1 of the DLC1 or DLC2 (SST # 09843-18020).
2. Turn the ignition switch on.
3. Read the diagnostic trouble code output on the height control indicator.
NOTE:
When the engine is not running, diagnostic trouble code "73" is indicated. This is normal.
When a diagnostic trouble code is not indicated, check the Tc terminal circuit.
Examples of the blinking patterns for normal condition and trouble codes 11 and 31 are shown in the adjacent illustrations.
NOTE:
In the event of 2 or more malfunction codes, the smallest numbered code will be displayed first.
4. Check the malfunction using the code table (Pages SA-94 and SA-95 of the 1995 LS 400 Repair Manual).
5. After completing the check, disconnect terminals Tc and E1 and turn off the display.
DTC CHECK BY USING LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER:
1. Hook up the Lexus hand-held tester to the DLC2.
2. Read the DTCs by following the prompts on the tester screen.

CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES:
1. Using diagnostic check wiring SST, connect terminals Tc and E1 of DLC1 or DLC2 (SST # 09843-18020).
2. Turn the ignition switch on for 5 seconds or longer.
3. Depress the brake pedal 8 or more times within 3 seconds.
NOTE:
Depressing the brake pedal 8 or more times within 3 seconds will also clear codes in the Trac and ABS, these codes should be written down before starting the clearing procedures.
