Ignition Coil: Service and Repair









NOTE: Installation is in the reverse older of removal

No.1 IGNITION COIL REMOVAL
1. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP COVER.
2. REMOVE BATTERY AND BATTERY TRAY.



3. DISCONNECT IGNITION COIL CONNECTOR.
4. DISCONNECT HIGH-TENSION CORD.
5. DISCONNECT NOISE FILTER CONNECTOR.
6. REMOVE IGNITION COIL.



- Remove the 2 bolts, ignition coil and bracket.

Torque:
- 10 mm head: 7.5 Nm (69 in.lb)
- 14 mm head: 34 Nm (25 ft.lb)


- Remove the 4 screws and ignition coil from the bracket.
7. REMOVE NOISE FILTER FROM BRACKET.


No.2 IGNITION COIL REMOVAL
1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER.
2. DISCONNECT HIGH-TENSION CORD.
3. REMOVE IGNITION COIL.



- Remove the 4 screws and ignition coil from the bracket.
4. DISCONNECT IGNITION COIL CONNECTOR.
