EGR Valve: Service and Repair
EGR VALVE REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER
2. DISCONNECT EGR VALVE CONNECTOR
3. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
4. REMOVE EGR VALVE
(a) Disconnect these hoses from EGR valve:
^ Water bypass hose from IAC valve
^ Water bypass hose from rear water bypass joint
(b) Remove the 2 nuts, EGR valve and gasket.
5. REINSTALL EGR VALVE
(a) Place a new gasket on the EGR valve adaptor.
NOTICE:
^ Do not touch the adaptor and EGR valve surfaces the gasket with your hand.
^ Align the port holes of the gasket and adaptor. Be careful of the installation direction.
(b) Install the EGR valve with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 18 N.m (185 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf)
(c) Connect these hoses to the EGR valve:
^ Water bypass hose from IAC valve
^ Water bypass hose from rear water bypass joint
6. RECONNECT EGR VALVE CONNECTOR
7. REINSTALL V-BANK COVER
10. REFILL WITH ENGINE COOLANT
