Mudguard - Installation Kit Available

LS 400

Title: 1995 LS 400 Mudguard Installation

A front and rear mudguard kit is now available for installation on the 1995 LS 400. Thoroughly clean all attachment areas, inspect accessory kit contents before installation and follow the installation procedure below.

RECOMMENDED TOOLS/MATERIALS:

^ Drill
^ 4 mm Allen Wrench
^ No. 40 Drill Bit
^ 50/50 Isopropyl Alcohol And Water Mix
^ Eye Protection
^ Clean Lint Free Rag
^ Pneumatic/Electric Wrench

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:

NOTE:
To obtain sufficient working space when installing mudguards, it is recommended that the vehicle's wheels be turned or removed as applicable.

Front Mudguards

1. Clean right hand mudguard mounting area as needed.




2. Remove vehicle clip at point (2), vehicle screw at point (3) and rubber plug at point (5) for the front right hand mudguard area (see Figure 1). Retain vehicle screw. Discard clip and plug.

3. Position and secure front right hand mudguard onto vehicle at point (3) with vehicle screw, then secure at point (5) with kit clip (Item 3), and then secure at point (2) with kit clip (Item 2).

4. Using mudguard as template and pressing mudguard flush to vehicle, drill holes at positions (1) and (4). Wear eye protection when drilling.

5. Secure mudguard at point (4) with kit screw (Item 1) and then secure at point (1) with kit screw (item 1).

6. Check for gaps between mudguard and vehicle. Adjust clearances and flush ness as needed by tightening in the following order - points (4), (1), (5), (2), and (3).

7. Wipe mudguard clean.

8. Repeat above installation steps for front left hand mudguard.

Rear Mudguards

1. Clean right hand mudguard mounting area as needed.




2. Remove vehicle screw at position (3) for rear right hand mudguard area (see Figure 2). Retain vehicle screw. Insert kit grommet at position (3) (Item 6) of fender liner.

3. Position and secure rear right hand mudguard onto vehicle at point (3) with vehicle screw. Ensure mudguard "hook" near point (3) is positioned.

4. Using mudguard as template and pressing mudguard flush to vehicle, drill holes at positions (2), (4), (5) and (1). When drilling position (2), ensure hole will be aligned to kit grommet inserted earlier. Wear eye protection when drilling.

5. Secure mudguard at points (5), (1) and (4) with kit screws (Item 4). Secure mudguard at point (2) with kit screw (Item 5).

6. Check for gaps between mudguard and vehicle. Adjust clearances and flushness as needed by tightening in the following order - Points (3), (5), (1), (4) and (2).

7. Wipe mudguard clean.

8. Repeat above installation steps for rear left hand mudguard.
