Passenger Airbag - Replacement Procedure

ELECTRICAL
EL95-001
FEBRUARY 3, 1995
ES 300, GS 300

When replacing the passenger airbag door or airbag assembly on ES 300 or GS 300, make sure to replace both parts as a set. To simplify this procedure, the front passenger airbag parts for these models are now packaged as a set (set contains the airbag door, airbag assembly and associated rivets, bolts and/or nuts).

Caution:
Replace the front passenger airbag door and airbag assembly as a set, never separately. INSTALLATION PRECAUTIONS:

TAKE THE FOLLOWING PRECAUTIONS WHEN REPLACING THESE PARTS:

^ When installing the airbag door, always replace the bolts, nuts, and screws.

^ Do not store the front passenger airbag assembly with the airbag door facing down.

^ Never disassemble the front passenger airbag assembly.

^ Make sure the airbag door does not have scratches, cracks, peeling or deformation.

^ When installing the airbag door, do not let any foreign particles get into the airbag assembly.

^ When installing the airbag door, do not pinch or otherwise damage the airbag assembly.

See the repair manual for the airbag installation and handling instructions.
