Component Inspection




COMPONENTS FOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE (VSV) FOR ACIS INSPECTION
1. REMOVE VACUUM CONTROL VALVE SET.
- Refer to "Service and Repair", steps 3 and 7, for ACIS removal. Variable Induction System

2. REMOVE VSV.
- Remove the screw, vacuum hose and VSV.




3. INSPECT VSV.
- Inspect VSV for open circuit.
- Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between the terminals.

Resistance: At 20°C (68°F): 38.5 - 44.5 Ohms

- If there is no continuity, replace the VSV.




- Inspect VSV for ground.
- Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity between each terminal and the body.
- If there is continuity, replace the VSV.




- Inspect VSV operation.
- Check that air flows from port E to the filter.




- Apply battery voltage across the terminals.
- Check that air flows from port E to port F.
- If operation is not as specified, replace the VSV.

4. INSTALL VSV.
- Install the VSV with the screw to the vacuum tank.
- Install the vacuum hose.

5. REINSTALL VACUUM CONTROL VALVE SET.
