Air Cleaner Housing: Description and Operation
PURPOSE
The Air Cleaner Housing is used to hold the air filter element and ensures that all intake air flows through the filter before entering the engine.
OPERATION
The Air Cleaner Housing is made up of two parts; the housing and the cap. The air filter element is sandwiched between the two halves. When assembled in the vehicle, air flows into the bottom of the housing, is filtered through the element and then passes out the top and through the air cleaner hose to the engine.
