Crankshaft Position Sensor: Description and Operation

PURPOSE/OPERATION
The crankshaft position sensor creates the NE signal. The NE signal works in conjunction with the G1 and G2 signals (from the camshaft position sensors) and produces an output pulse to the Engine Control Module. The Engine Control Module uses this signal to determine engine speed and relative top dead center for each cylinder.
