Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair




PROCEDURE

Removal

1. Disconnect cable from negative terminal of battery.

CAUTION: Turn the ignition switch to "LOCK". Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) terminal of the battery. Wait 90 seconds before proceeding with work.

2. Remove air cleaner case and volume air flow meter assembly.





- Disconnect the volume air flow meter connector.
- Disconnect the wire clamp from the clamp bracket on the volume air flow meter.
- Loosen the hose clamp bolt.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Disconnect the air cleaner hose from the volume air flow meter.
- Disconnect the air duct from the air cleaner case, and remove the air cleaner case and volume air flow meter assembly.





3. Remove volume air flow meter from air cleaner case.
- Remove the 4 nuts, volume air flow meter and gasket.

Installation





1. Install volume air flow meter to air cleaner case.
- Install a new gasket and the volume air flow meter with the 4 bolts.

Torque: 10 Nm (7 ft lb)

2. Install air cleaner case and volume air flow meter assembly.





- Connect the air cleaner case to the air duct.
- Connect the volume air flow meter to the air cleaner hose.
- Install the air cleaner case and volume air flow meter assembly with the 4 bolts.
- Install the hose clamp.
- Connect the volume air flow meter connector.
- Install the wire clamp to the clamp bracket on the volume air flow meter.
3. Connect negative terminal cable to battery.
