INSPECTION

1. Inspect throttle body.





- Remove the throttle body cover.
- Disconnect the EVAP hose from the hose clamp.
- Remove the cap nut.
- Loosen the 2 bolts, and remove the hose clamp and throttle body cover.





- Check that the throttle linkage moves smoothly.





- Check the vacuum at each port.
- Start the engine.
- Check the vacuum with your finger.





- Reinstall the throttle body cover.
2. Inspect and adjust dash pot.
- Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
- Check idle speed

Idle speed: 700 ± 50 rpm





- Remove cap, filter and separator from dash pot





- Check and adjust dash pot setting speed.
- Maintain the engine at 2,500 rpm.
- Plug the vacuum transfer valve hole with your finger.





- Release the throttle valve.
- Check that the dash pot is set.

- Adjust the dash pot setting speed by turning the dash pot adjusting screw.
- Repeat steps from above and recheck the dash pot setting speed.





- Reinstall separator, filter and cap to dash pot. Install the filter with the coarser surface facing the atmospheric side (outside).





- Check vacuum transfer valve operation.
- Maintain the engine at 2,500 rpm.
- Release the throttle valve, and check that the engine returns to idle in a few seconds.
