Fuel Pressure Control Solenoid: Service and Repair
PROCEDURERemoval
1. Disconnect negative terminal cable from battery.
CAUTION: Work must be started after 90 seconds from the time the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.
2. Disconnect the vacuum switching valve connector.
3. Disconnect the following hose from the vacuum switching valve:
- Vacuum hose from fuel pressure regulator (1)
- Vacuum hose from air intake chamber (2)
4. Except California: Remove the bolt holding the water bypass pipe to the vacuum switching valve.
5. Remove the bolt and vacuum switching valve.
Installation
1. Install the vacuum switching valve with the bolt.
Torque: 18 Nm (13 ft lb)
2. Except California: Install the water bypass pipe to the vacuum switching valve with the bolt.
3. Connect the following hoses to the vacuum switching valve:
- Vacuum hose from fuel pressure regulator (1)
- Vacuum hose from air intake chamber (2)
4. Connect the vacuum switching valve connector.
5. Reconnect negative terminal cable to battery.
