Positive Crankcase Ventilation: Testing and Inspection
INSPECTION
1. Visually inspect hoses, connections and gaskets. Check for cracks, leaks or damage.
2. Start engine and run at idle.
3. Remove hose from top of Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Valve.
4. Check for vacuum at hose. reattach hose to valve.
5. Remove PCV Valve from valve cover. Leave hose attached.
6. Place your finger over the opening in the bottom of the PCV Valve and listen for click noise as valve closes. If vacuum is felt but valve does not click closed, replace valve.
7. Reinstall PCV Valve
