Diagnostic Procedure
DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDUREHINT: If diagnostic trouble code 14 is displayed, check No. 1 igniter circuit. If diagnostic trouble code 15 is displayed, check No. 2 igniter circuit.
1. .Check for spark
- If OK proceed to step 2.
- If not OK proceed to step 4.
2. .Check for open and short in lGF signal circuit between igniter and engine control module.
- If OK proceed to step 3.
- If not OK repair or replace harness or connector.
3. .Check voltage of terminal IGF.
- If OK replace igniter.
- If not OK check and replace engine control module.
4. Check voltage of terminal IGT.
- If OK proceed to step 5.
- If not OK proceed to step 9.
5. Check voltage of igniter power source.
- If OK proceed to step 6.
- If not OK proceed to step 8.
6. Check for open and short in primary coil circuit.
- If OK proceed to step 7.
- If not OK repair or replace harness or connector.
7. Check ignition coil.
- If OK replace igniter.
- If not OK replace ignition coil.
8. Check ignition relay.
- If OK check and repair igniter power source circuit.
- If not OK replace ignition relay.
9. Check voltage of terminal IGT (Disconnect igniter connector).
- If OK replace igniter.
- If not OK proceed to step 10.
10. Check for open and short in IGT signal circuit between igniter and engine control module.
- If OK check and replace engine control module.
- If not OK repair or replace harness or connector.
