Removal and Installation

1. Disarm air bag system as described under "Air Bag Disarming & Arming.
2. Remove glove compartment door finish plate from inside compartment, then carefully disconnect air bag electrical connector, Figs. 9 and 10.










3. On 1994 LS400 models, remove glove compartment door, compartment, undercover, righthand instrument panel lower pad and glove compartment door lock striker.
4. On 1995-96 LS400 models, remove instrument panel and No. 2 side defroster nozzle.
5. On all models, remove air bag attaching screws, bolts or nuts. Note size and location of fasteners for use during installation.
6. Carefully remove air bag assembly. Store air bag with pad facing upward.
7. Reverse procedure to install, tighten screws, nuts and bolts to specifications, then arm air bag system/SRS as described under Air Bag Disarming & Arming.
