Canister Purge Solenoid: Service and Repair

PROCEDURE

Removal

1. Disconnect negative terminal cable from battery.

CAUTION: Work must be started after 90 seconds from the time the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.

2. Remove Vacuum Switching Valve.
- Disconnect the Vacuum Switching Valve connector.
- Disconnect the following hoses from the Vacuum Switching Valve:
- Vacuum hose (from vacuum pipe).
- Vacuum hose (from charcoal canister).
- Remove the bolt and Vacuum Switching Valve from the intake chamber.

Assembly

1. Reinstall Vacuum Switching Valve.
- Install the Vacuum Switching Valve with the bolt.
- Connect the following hoses to the Vacuum Switching Valve:
- Vacuum hose (from vacuum pipe).
- Vacuum hose (from charcoal canister).
- Connect the Vacuum Switching Valve connector.
3. Reconnect negative terminal cable to battery.
