Air Injection Vacuum Control Solenoid Valve: Testing and Inspection
INSPECTIONVSV Inspection - Checking Resistance:
1. Inspect vacuum switching valve for open circuit.
- Connect an ohmmeter across vacuum switching valve terminals.
Resistance: 37 - 44 ohms
VSV Inspection - Checking For Short:
2. Inspect vacuum switching valve for ground.
- Check that there is no continuity between either terminal and vacuum switching valve case.
3. Inspect vacuum switching valve operation.
- Blow air into port E. Air should flow from port F.
- Apply battery voltage across solenoid terminals.
- Blow air into port E. Air should flow from filter easily.
- If any step failed to produce desired results, replace vacuum switching valve.
