Data Trouble Code No. 24 - Intake Air Temperature Sensor Signal

Detecting Condition

Open or short in Intake Air Temperature Sensor circuit for 0.5 seconds or more.

Trouble Area

- Open or short in Intake Air Temperature Sensor circuit.
- Intake Air Temperature Sensor.
- Engine Control Module.

Normal Mode On
Test Mode On

Code 24 Description:

Circuit Description
The intake air temp. sensor is built into the volume air flow meter and senses the intake air temperature.

The structure of the sensor and connection to the engine control module is the same as in the engine coolant temp.

If the engine control module records the diagnostic trouble code "24", it operates the fail safe function, keeping the intake air temperature reading at a constant 20°C (68°F).
