Installation

PROCEDURE

1. Install Vacuum Tank and Vacuum Switching Valve with the screw to the vacuum tank. Install the vacuum hose.





2. Install vacuuum control valve set with the 2 nuts.

Torque: 21 Nm (15 ft lb)

Connect the connector to the Vacuum Switching Valve.
3. Install air intake chamber.





- Place the gasket so the protrusion faces the intake chamber.





- Install a new gasket to the intake manifold, and install the intake chamber with the 5 bolts and 1 nut.

Torque: 21 Nm (15 ft lb)

- Install the 2 nuts holding the Throttle Body bracket to the cylinder head.

Torque: 18 Nm (13 ft lb)

- Install the 4 bolts and 2 nuts holding the intake air connector to the air intake chamber.

Torque: 18 Nm (13 ft lb)

- Install the 2 bolts holding the chamber stays to the air intake chamber.

Torque: 18 Nm (13 ft lb)





- Install the brake booster union with 2 new gaskets and the union bolt.
- Connect the accelerator cable to the bracket.





4. Connect no. 2 vacuum pipe to air intake chamber.
- Install the No.2 vacuum pipe with the 2 nuts.

Torque: 21 Nm (15 ft lb)

- Connect the 2 vacuum hoses to the vacuum control valve set.





5. Connect the following vacuum hoses:
Vacuum hose (from actuator) to No.1 vacuum pipe (1)
Vacuum hose to air intake chamber (2)
Vacuum hose to hose clamp (3)
Brake booster vacuum hose to union (4)





6.Install dipstick guide for transmission.
- Install a new O-ring on the dipstick guide.
- Apply soapy water on the O-ring.
- Connect the dipstick guide end to the oil pan.
- Install the dipstick guide with the bolt.





7. Install Exhaust Gas Recirculation pipe.
- Temporarily install the union nut of the Exhaust Gas Recirculation pipe.
- Install a new gasket and the Exhaust Gas Recirculation pipe with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 21 Nm (15 ft lb)

- Tighten the union nut of the Exhaust Gas Recirculation pipe.

Torque: 64 Nm (47 ft lb)





8. Install the Data Link Connector 1 bracket and Vacuum Switching Valve assembly (California only) with the bolt.





9. Connect the following hoses:
- Power Steering air hose to air intake chamber (1)
- Vacuum sensing hose to air intake chamber (2)
- Vacuum sensing hose to Fuel Pressure Regulator.
10. Connect the Vacuum Switching Valve connector (California only).
11. Connect the Data Link Connector 1 to the bracket.
12. Connect cable to negative terminal of battery.
