Variable Induction Control Valve: Description and Operation
PURPOSEThe Intake Air Control Valve is designed to allow increased performance in all driving ranges by changing the effective intake manifold length in two stages as determined by the Engine Control Module (ECM).
OPERATION
The Intake Air Control Valve, mounted in the Air Intake Chamber, is operated by the Actuator at times determined by the Engine Control Module. When vacuum is present at the Actuator the Intake Air Control Valve closes the center passage, effectively lengthening the intake runner.
