Variable Induction Control Solenoid: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV) opens and closes the vacuum source to the Actuator, which in turn opens or closes the Intake Air Control Valve.

OPERATION
The VSV is a two port vented vacuum solenoid. With no power applied, vacuum is shut off and atmospheric pressure is allowed to the Actuator. When energized by the Engine Control Module vacuum passes through the VSV to the Actuator.
