Fuel Pressure Pulsation Damper: Service and Repair

PROCEDURE

CAUTION: After affecting any repair that requires disassembly of fuel related components, inspect carefully for fuel leaks upon completion.





Removal

1. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery.

CAUTION: Work must be started after 90 seconds from the time the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.

2. Remove the Starter Assembly.
3. Remove the Pulsation Damper and upper gasket.
4. Disconnect the No. 1 fuel pipe (fuel inlet pipe) from the fuel pipe support and remove the lower gasket.

Installation

1. Install the No.1 fuel pipe and Pulsation Damper with 2 new gaskets.





Note: There are two different sizes of gaskets. The upper gasket (large) and lower gasket (small).

Torque: 41 Nm (30 ft lb)

2. Install the Starter Assembly.
3. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery.
4. Start the engine and check for fuel leaks.
