Canister Purge Solenoid: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) System Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV) controls application of vacuum to the Charcoal Canister to allow purging of fuel vapors.

OPERATION
The EVAP VSV is operated by electrical signal from the Engine Control Module (ECM) based on input from various engine sensors.
