Main Heated Oxygen Sensors
INSPECTION1. Allow the engine to warm up to normal operating temperature.
2. Inspect feedback voltage.
- Connect the positive (+) probe of a voltmeter to terminal VF1 (for sensor No. 1) or VF2 (for sensor No. 2) of the Data Link Connector, and negative (-) probe to terminal E1.
- Perform the test as described above.
3. Inspect heater resistance of Main Heated Oxygen Sensors.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) terminal of the battery.
NOTE: Turn the ignition switch to "LOCK". Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) terminal from the battery. Wait 90 seconds before proceeding with work.
- Disconnect the Heated Oxygen Sensor connectors.
- Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals +B and HT.
Resistance: 11.7 - 14.3 ohms at 20°C (68°F)
- Reconnect the Heated Oxygen Sensor connectors.
4. If necessary, replace Heated Oxygen Sensors.
Torque: 44 Nm (33 ft lb)
5. Reconnect cable to negative terminal of battery.
